The Farm

I woke up yesterday to a beautiful morning and thought "what a beautiful day to take the kids to ride horses (and mommy too. :) ) So I called a good friend of our family who has a horse and all kinds of farm animals and we headed out!! I couldn't go before dressing my babies up in their cowboy getup!!

We had a blast!! Cayden's favorite thing in the world is to play cowboy so this was right up his alley!! My boys love animals (just like mommy) so it was the place to be yesterday!!

We all took a turn riding the horse....Then it was off to play with the goats. They were so funny. Grayson got some extra good sugars yesterday!!!
After all of that we took a LONG hike down to the pond!! Cayden loved this part for sure!!

We had a fantastic time!! Thank you to the Reeves who let us come out and "play"!!

Daddy, we wish you could have been with us, but we will be going ALOT when you come home!! The kids want to live there, so who knows, we may even live somewhere else when you come home! :) We love you and miss you so much daddy!!

Graybaby's haircut

Okay....for those of you who know me well, you know that I absolutely hate cutting my babies hair off!! I have been putting it off for so long. Grayson has had many haircuts, but only as little as possible has been cut off UNTIL today!! I have had several people making comments and my mom even putting it in a ponytail!!! So I decided to get his sweet little kinda curls cut off!! As soon as she made the first cut, the tears started!! All I could say is "It will grow back." :(
Do you see the back of it?!?!?!? IT'S GONE!!!!

JD, you should be happy! Your baby officially looks like a boy now!!

Me Me's weekend

We had a fun weekend with Me Me! This weekend was her first birthday since grandpa passed away 5 months ago. Friday night we took her out to eat and then Saturday we just enjoyed being outside in the beautiful sunshine. It has been really nice for her to get to come down as much as possible. I can always use the extra help with the kids and she loves being around them. No better medicine for a broken heart than your grandkids (or so I hear anyway).

Here is a pic of Me Me and Cayden playing outside.
Saturday night our awesome friends ( The Brinkmann family) came over and hung out for a little while. Me Me bought baby Grayson a new ride so Uncle Eric helped assemble it!! Grayson was very excited and still is.

Cayden and Grayson riding together
And ofcourse we had to get a group pic....It's been a while since we have done this!! Lesley, I can't believe how many kids we have between the 2 of us now!! I remember when there were NONE!!!

We hope you had a great birthday weekend Me Me!!

Answering the Call

When God calls we answer. We either answer yes or we say no. In so many cases in my life I am ashamed to say that I have said NO way more than I have said YES!! God has made that call again in my life and I have decided to answer YES this time with extreme willingness. I am so giddy with excitement over it.

I am very involved in my FRG (Family Readiness Group). For those of you who don't understand the FRG is the "Military wives and family" club.....that's the easy explanation. Anyway, God has called me to start a bible study with the wives and girlfriends of the unit. I am so ecstatic about this!! I am also SCARED to death. For those of you that know me, you know that I am NOT a teacher!! I am totally trusting God to handle this and use me as his speaking tool!!! For my prayer warriors out there I could use your prayers now!! You know who you are! :))

Looking back through the years up until this point I can so see how God has been equipping me for "such a time as this." This is not about me at all, but about him!! I am just allowing him to use me for his Glory and what an honor that is!! My heart is so on fire for him and it is an amazing place to be. My husband is also about to start one with the guys over where he is!! I am just so excited to see how God uses this everyday!! You will probably being hearing alot more about this, cuz I am hoping for lots of wonderful stories to come out of it!!!

Better late than never

Well, after many months and even years of fighting the fight to join the blogging world, I have now decided to join. I absolutely enjoy reading other people's blogs all the time and have struggled with starting my own, but it is really hard for me to be vulnerable and put my life out there. I am praying daily for humility and the start of humility is being vulnerable. I have felt led by God for a while to use it as a tool to give him the glory as we go through our daily spiritual growth. Another reason I have decided to do it now, is it will be easier for JD to see what is going on in our lives everyday while he is away. It is going to take me a while to figure out how all of this works. At this point I am completely lost!! So here we go........

As many of you know, my husband is deployed overseas for at least a year. He has already been gone for 3 months so we have made a dent. :) God has used this time in our lives to do some amazing transformations in us. We are both very passionate about the fact that we are put in this because it is our mission field. He didn't choose to send us to Africa or India, or anything like that. He chose the military for us.

So stay tuned and see how it all unfolds. I can assure you there will be good and bad days!! Also, there is NEVER a dull moment under my roof so be prepared for the topsy turvy of our everyday life!!
